Information on how to use laws and regulations to achieve our objectives will be published here along with how these can be used to put pressure on town planners and on developers to allow for the preservation and improvement of green corridors.
For example, did you know that a permit from the Forestry Commission is required to cut down even relatively small amounts of woodland, regardless of where it is situated. Failure to comply can lead to compulsory replanting of trees and management of those trees for a period of ten growing seasons?
Where these rules are enforced it means that following the formal procedures becomes by far the safer route for a developer to take. This in turn means that the public and council alike are aware of what is going on. But these rules can only be enforced when the appropriate authorities and notified immediately of any potentially illegal activities.
